Record heatwaves across the country, in Toledo the humidity has been oppressive. The desire to never leave the air conditioning is real. What is also real is the ongoing concerns regarding the pandemic and indoor gatherings.
The summer months afford the opportunity to gather at outdoor spaces and park shelters. At our July meetup at Pearson park, we read a script that had us all losing it, tears of laughter. Thank you Max for sharing your script with us, judging by the reaction you have another fun project ahead!
The dedicated writers in the group have voiced their demand for a free writing segment to the monthly meetups. Going forward we will have up to an hour before the scheduled meeting to have quiet focus time to work on projects and just write! This means the social/networking time and table reads will occur at the posted start time. So if you want to come up to an hour before, bring something to work on.
We continue in August to try different locations in hopes of transitioning to a suitable indoor space this fall/winter if our previous meeting space at the library continues to be unavailable. Make sure to follow the page on Facebook for the events. We are looking to set up a way to notify by email for those not on Facebook, for the meantime:
August 21st at The Flying Joe in Levis Commons 4pm (3pm for focused writing time) They have indoor and outdoor seating and really good coffee/drinks.
