March 2022

A topsy turvy month for weather in Ohio. March is full of good days to read and write screenplays!

Some of the best advice on how to learn and improve screenwriting skill is to read produced screenplays.  The more you do this, the more you will think and develop your ideas in the language of film and TV. There are many places to find scripts online so search for your favorite genre and dive in.

Our next meetup is coming up and we are inviting anyone who has a short or a sample to bring it to be read by the group. (Bring copies) An early Tableread helps a writer hear their words. Sounds simple, but it really helps. The tone, cadence, style of language and intention of a character’s dialogue will change who they are.

We also invite actors interested in reading to attend our meetups. Not all writers have skill at reading/performing but we do our best.

Next meeting is March 19th 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Main Branch library downtown just park in the free  library garage on Adams and the room is on garage level. Toledo Library:  Community Room 1 (The Fred H. McDonald)

One last thing, Jupmode is again supporting small business in Toledo by printing shirts to raise funds. We will be sharing this information soon so keep an eye out. Can’t wait to order a new Glass City Screenwriters shirt!

Stay warm and keep creating!
