This time of year can be emotional. No matter how or why you celebrate, or choose not to. The attachments we place on tradition and our connections to people bring out the best and worst of us in this final month of the year.
At the November writer’s meetup we were back at the Oregon branch library for the first time in close to two years. A bit of a smaller group, we are still dealing with the fear of gathering in person, and that is completely understood. One thing though, don’t let it stop you from continuing to write and work toward making the story you want to share with the world. It is a slow process to make something of quality, just keep on the path no matter how curvy it becomes.
We love for new people to come to our regular monthly meetups, which is part of the reason we have them! One new person at a time adds up to a growing group of collaborators. Thank you to those who showed up and helped read a new short script. For a screenwriter, it is so important to hear their work read out loud. Dialogue usually needs tinkering, and hearing it makes it more obvious.
Our December meetup is again at the Oregon library at 3340 Dustin Road Oregon, OH Saturday December 18 at 1:30 pm. We will try to Zoom at the meeting if we can, so more can join in if you are not comfortable at an in person right now. Information will again be posted to Facebook in an event as well.
Happy Holidays and hears to a healthier, happier 2022, keep on writing!
